The morning brought rolling fog from the blue grass hills. Don't worry, that grass isn't actually blue, but they were once covered in water back when half of my Island was forming out of the ocean. Merton,  is the name of my island, can you tell we're surrounded by water? My island is west of the main land, and the Kingdom of Lunete. That's where most of the fairies come from, back when they were asked to leave their forest to make room for more towns and homes, but were treated like royalty for their many uses.

But anyway, Back to the whole beautiful morning rubbish.

After the midnight Siren hunting, the Trainers had to wake up early to meet their Sirens and begin measuring them for their battle armor. But before that, they all had received letters from Lynn, their guide. At the church in my home town, Tierney's father was holding an early morning service. The usuals came in, a group of elders and maybe a few dedicated families, like mine. Tierney's old man, Father Doyle, was enjoying the time spent with his followers. "Lovely, let us turn to the page we have marked off and begin our everyday prayer." The old man said; his black hair slicked back, his long slender face showing off distinct cheek bones. His long black robes extended to the ground, laying there in the morning sun like a grim reaper. His eyes were piercing yellow, like a hawk. Everyone began to pray, reading from their books as Father Doyle scanned the church, then looked to his son Tierney. He had bags under his eyes from lack of sleep, and his white suit had one side slightly un-tucked from his belt. He narrowed his eyes at the boy, and tucked in his suit. "The lord did not place us on the planet to be sloths, my boy." He hummed in his withering voice. Tierney straightened up, and fixed his hair. Someone snuck in the back of the church and bowed to Father Doyle. "I've a message for your son, Father." The tall man reached out his boney hands and took the letter from the messenger's grasp. "It's from the Triton HQ." Tierney glanced sideways at the man and his Father, slightly nervous. "Go on, take it." His father said. Tierney looked at the letter in hesitation, then took it from his father.

He slipped it into his suit, then excused himself from the room. His father's burning eyes followed him, before he broke away after hearing the prayer end. Tierney took his letter and hid in the Confessional. He opened the letter and read it calmly, just glad to be alone. The letter from Lynn had informed him of the training ground location. He was also told where to find material for Nilofar's armor. Tierney squinted his eyes at the letter. "Nilofar…? Is that her name?" Tierney whispered, then glared at the paper. "They shouldn't have names." He closed the letter and re-emerged from the Confessional.

Over on Emmet's farm, he was laying in bed with his legs spread out like a star fish. After the hunt last night, he was exhausted and could barely move. He thought he might be used to all of the exercise because of farming, but this was far too much for him. Slowly though, he began to slither out of bed, melting on to his floor with a groan. "No, sun… go back in to hiding…" he stood up, and rubbed his face. It was sore from where Nilofar had slapped him, and knocked his glasses off. He then looked over to his tiny bedside table, where his glasses were sitting. Next to them was a picture of his father and himself, along with his mother. His father was a handsome, red haired man. He had stunning blue eyes, and a strong build. Emmet frowned, knowing he'd never look like his father, accept maybe that they shared one thing. "Emmet, dear!" his mother was downstairs, making breakfast when a man came to the door and gave her a letter, the same one Tierney got. Emmet rushed down stairs, and saw his mother smiling with the letter. "mum, what is that?" he asked, raising a brow. She grinned, then shook her head. "Just a letter from the Triton HQ. They want you to bring clothes for Nilofar, your mermaid!" Emmet's eyes softened, then he sighed. "muuuum… we can barely afford clothes for us! Where will we get any new clothes?" Emmet's mother smiled, and looked down at the letter. "well I can sew her clothes, just being her home one day and I'll see what I can do." Emmet stared at her, running his fingers through his hair. He was wondering how his mother would be willing to do something for the same creatures who took her husband away. She looked as if she was longing to make something, she truly did want to sew something for Nilofar.

"I just thought I could help…"

"Of course," Emmet smiled, then took his mother's hands. "I'll bring her here, and you can make her something beautiful. But she needs clothes right now, so I'll just give her some of mine." He smiled warmly, and his mother smiled back. "You have such a big heart, my sweet boy." Emmet laughed, then went back up to his room for fetch some clothes. He searched through his tiny closet, and picked out a few sweaters and shirts. He stuffed two pairs of pants in to a suit case, and shut it tight, heaving it on to the floor of his room. "You really screwed up, you know?" he panted, looking to the picture of his father. "She used to sew for you, now she's sewing for a Siren. You've taken her dignity, papa." Emmet frowned, then picked up the suit case. He went outside and began to walk to the Campsite where Nilofar was, hoping she had calmed down since their last meeting. "Emmet, you made it!" Bartly grinned, seeing his teammate enter the Tent. "Sorry I'm late, I sort of slept in and I had to grab a few things." Bartly wiped his nose with a thumb and smiled. "Not a problem. Nilofar hasn't woken up yet." Emmet looked to her tank, and saw her sleeping on her sponged bed. "Nilofar, huh?" he breathed, as Bartly walked up to his side. "The letter we all got today had her name in it, that's the first we heard of it." Emmet smiled, and nodded. "What's with the suit case?" Bartly raised a brow.   "Oh, this suit case has clothes for Nilofar, but their actually mine…" Emmet blushed, setting the suit case up right. "Your clothes?" Bartly smirked and circled Emmet. "I wonder how she'll react to wearing boy clothes, or clothes at all!" Tierney waved over a worker fairy, and told her to go fetch Nilofar from her tank. The fairy nodded and flew up to the tank, and pointed a finger at the young mermaid, drawing her from the water inside a ball of golden light. Nilofar's sleeping body limply emerged from the tank and was lowered to a wooden table in their section of the tent. The fairy then took Emmet's suit case and carried it over to Nilofar, who was beginning to dry off, and wake up. Her body was no longer soaking, and her tail started to glow white.

Bartly and Emmet watched in awe as her tail slowly began to disappear. Bartly's face lit up as his cheeks turned red, and Emmet's whole face went red as well. Tierney looked away, as Emmet shielded his eyes. "Please hurry and put her clothes on!" Emmet cried, his voice cracking in urgency. Nilofar was completely naked, what once was her long fish tail was now short legs, somewhat skinny from lack of use. Her wet hair covered her small breasts, and her finger nails went from a golden color to pale. The fairies dried her and caressed her in golden light, while dressing her. Nilofar finally opened her eyes, feeling warm cloth against her body, and it was kind of itchy… "I liked it better when she was naked." Bartly stated, looking down at Nilofar. "You have weird taste in clothes." Emmet uncovered his eyes with shaking hands, and saw Nilofar dressed in his red sweater and dark gray pants, with black socks that perhaps fit her a bit too loose. "T-That's ok, their just temporary." Emmet coughed. "I hope so." Nilofar turned her head to the boys, her vision becoming clear. She saw Emmet, as he studied her. The mermaid then popped a hand up and socked him in the face, sending him back on to the ground. Bartly gasped, as Nilofar lifted herself off the table as the fairies panicked and squealed. She bounded off the table and took off; swearing at who-ever crossed her path. But unfortunately, her legs had never been used and she barely knew how to take a step. Nilofar fell in to the ground face first, as everyone let out surprised gasps. Bartly went to her rescue and gently tried to help her up. "Whoa, I wouldn't do that," he laughed nervously. "Keep your hands off of me, human!" Nilofar struggled from Bartly's grasp. "You do talk!" Bartly exclaimed with a smile. Nilofar was not amused, she slammed in to Bartly, but he was stronger than her. Emmet regained his feet as he readjusted his glasses, and glared at Nilofar. "What is this, 'slap Emmet' week?" Nilofar growled as her eyes darted across the room from each person. She spotted the other tanks with Mermaids in inside, as they watched her in concern and curiosity. "Stand up, or at least try." Bartly told her, helping her to her new feet. Nilofar felt violated by Bartly's grasp, and refused to move for him. "Come now, it isn't hard." He told her. Nilofar rammed her elbow in to his ribs, making him double over with a weeze. She smirked down at Bartly, and began to crawl away from him. Nilofar was making good progress before she found herself running in to something solid. She gasped, and looked above herself. Tierney was standing there, towering over her with an annoyed expression. He extended a hand out at her necklace, and looked her in the eyes.

"On your feet, Siren. Walk."

his voice echoed inside her brain like thunder, the strong erg to stand taking her over. She gritted her teeth and picked herself up, but was having trouble holding still, and she wobbled. Bartly caught her one last time, still out of breath from her attack. "What have we here?" Lynn's voice echoed behind everyone in the tent, as she strolled in, boots knocking on the ground. She crossed her arms, and smirked at exhausted and frustrated Nilofar. Emmet and Bartly felt a wee bit embarrassed, and very ashamed that Lynn saw Nilofar running around out of control. "Good heavens, what is she wearing?" Lynn looked her up and down, as Bartly held on to her. "E-Emmet's clothes, ma'am." Bartly smiled sheepishly, as Emmet felt his cheeks go red. "I see that…"  Lynn took slow, cautious steps toward Nilofar, studying her as she lifted a hand to her necklace. "You're lucky these boys are gentle, the last mermaid to try and run away was beheaded." Lynn told her calmly. Nilofar widened her eyes and squirmed slightly, as Lynn smirked. "You'll be good now, won't you?" Floki found his way in to the tent just in time to see the guide and Nilofar staring at each other with malice. Floki frowned at the sight of Nilofar looking so distraught and trapped. Floki shot down after her, as Lynn finished her mental beat down. Nilofar hung her head low, anger and loneliness building up higher. Floki flew up to her face, hoping to get her attention. "Nilofar, what's happened?" she looked to Floki with her lip trembling, which told him something bad happened.  "Training starts soon, pull it together." Tierney was behind Nilofar, inches away from her ear. He then took off, leaving the tent, and a frightened Nilofar.

"Don't let them get you down." Floki told her, as he looked at her outfit. "That's actually a good look for you." He smiled, hoping to break the thick tension. Nilofar sighed, and scratched her arm. "I look awful." She replied. Bartly smiled and took her hand, wondering if she'd attack him again.  "let's try this again," Bartly said, as Nilofar drew her hand away from him. Bartly sighed, and walked ahead of her. Nilofar dropped to her knees once more, her legs beginning to sting with a horrible pain, as if her bones were being slashed with swords. Floki bit his lip as she cried out in pain, he was very un experienced with comforting others. The other mermaids watched as Nilofar shed tears from her aching legs. Three other mermaids were in their tanks, and one was asleep. The mermaids that watched Nilofar were from the main land, and further than that, but happened to be swimming around Merton and sadly were captured for the Triton championship. The first one to be caught was a very young and very scared Kanani. Her tail was similar to that of a clown fish. Orange, white and black perfectly lined together. Her hair was wild, blazing red ringlets, curly and soft, as they sway in the water. Her eyes were emerald green, and her skin silky smooth with no freckles or any sign she had been in sun. She pressed her palms to the glass of the tank, her eyes full of sadness and sympathy for Nilofar. The second mermaid captured was Malreen, a fair skinned pearl with spiky black hair. A golden stripe slashed across her head. Her tail was white, with black stripes, and a golden fin. She had her back turned, gazing over her shoulder at Nilofar, as if feeling her pain. Was this going to happen to her as well? was the pain of human legs really that gut wrenching? She looked down with her deep blue eyes, then glanced over to the other mermaid in the next tent; that being the deadly lionfish-tailed Leola Doku. Her tail was wild and spiky, white with brownish red and black stripes. Her hair was long and black as the deepest sea. Her piercing silver eyes simply watched Nilofar with no emotions, not one. She tapped the glass of her tank with her blood red finger nails, as Malreen wondered why she wasn't scared or upset at all. Leola perked her rosy lips in thought, and then looked to the tank down from hers. There was a dark skinned mermaid with long curly brown hair. Her eyes were a red brown, and tense looking. She had a serious expression but she also seemed disturbed by what they had done to Nilofar. Her tail was black with swirling red to orange markings. She sported battle scares all over her upper body; she obviously was from the south of the mainland, where she had to fight to survive. Her name was Anirha, and she had almost killed the trainers who had caught her.

Nilofar finally lifted her head once the pain had subsided, and her eyes were drawn to the last tank in the tent. On the opposite side of the large tents there was a surprise. Nilofar widened her silver eyes, spotting Tallulah sleeping peacefully in her tank. Her owner's team was Triton Alpha, team number one.

"Tallulah!" she cried out, picking herself up and struggling to take balanced steps. She raced over to Tallulah and banged her hands on the tank that held her best friend. "Wake up, I'm here Tallulah," Nilofar pleaded, trying to wake her up. But Tallulah was fast asleep, her body floating freely at the bottom of the tank. "She has been asleep since we all arrived." Malreen told Nilofar, hanging over the side of her tank. Nilofar panted, and frowned as she spun around to look at Malreen. "I'm going to get us all out." She said intently, grasping her sweater tightly. Malreen seemed surprised Nilofar said that, then looked down with a smile. "That does sound like a good idea, but…" she shook her head. "These humans have so much power against us; I can't find any outcome that says we live." Nilofar gritted her teeth, and waved a hand. "I can, and I won't allow this to happen to us, we need to make plans to escape!" Leola scoffed, emerging from the water. "Just what kind of plan? If we keep our mouths shut and obey we will live." Nilofar glared. "Drop down before the humans and let them treat us as slaves? I think not." Leola gave a slight smirk, staring down at her. "If we do as they wish we might have a chance at a new life, I think this mermaid and human partnership will get us somewhere." Malreen gave Leola a look of disbelief. "You make it sound like we are guests, when that is not at all what we are, to them we are beasts…" Nilofar nodded once, and crossed her arms. Kanani popped her head out of her tank, peeking over the side. "What kind of plan could we make?" she spoke up to Nilofar. "What could we possibly do to get through them? Nilofar looked to Kanani, then to the other mermaids. To be honest, she hadn't thought through any sort of plan as to how to escape. But she did know one thing; The humans saw them as monsters or witches, and feared the mermaids. It finally clicked in her brain, and she looked back to Kanani and said "They want demons? They want deadly Sirens? Then that's just what we'll give them."
