So I took lucky up to my apartment room, and let him have a look around. My place was small and stuffy but had a great view of the city. I set down my bag lazily and let out a sigh, as Lucky explored the room. "I'm gonna go take a quick shower. If you're thirsty or anything the kitchen is… right behind you." I realized I lived in a mouse hole, one of the reasons I should of jumped.

Lucky looked into the kitchen, his eyes were wide as if he'd never seen one before. "what is that? What is that there? And there? What is this? One what are those?" he pointed to most everything in my kitchen. I laughed. "those are cheap appliances, and that's a broken sink." Lucky smiled. "Amazing." I shook my head, laughing. "you must be high on something, I may make you do a drug test. Anyway, be right back. please don't break anything." I made my way to the bathroom, and shut the door. My back hit the door gently, as I slid down. I suddenly felt tears building in the corners of my eyes, as I took a moment to soak everything in.

I have some kind of Alien in my house… I'm single again… I'm going to be all alone, or taken to Lucky's mother ship..
I wobbled up, and turned on my shower, and didn't even bother to remove my clothes. I sat there in the tub, knees tucked in; I'd never been so jaded In my life.

Lucky was exploring my kitchen, he held a banana in one hand and a telephone in the other. He thought since they looked alike, they would serve a similar purpose. "Number seven, reporting. Over?" he spoke to the phone, then placed the Banana to his ear. "Number seven, reporting, over?" neither objects answered.

When I finally got out of the shower I realized the sun was beginning to rise. I passed by Lucky who was oddly close to my TV, he was watching these girls do yoga on a show. "look, they are solar charging! They will not last long, if they do not charge longer." He told me, as he pointed to a woman doing tree pose. I raised a brow, then headed to my room to change. I was dead tired, and put on a baggy T-shirt and some pink shorts. The next thing I know when I leave my room, he has his arms wrapped around my TV. "what in the world!?" I gasped. "she is lovely." He told me, smiling. "she teaches me everything. She is amazing." I blushed, rubbing my face. "are you one of those guys who like objects rather than humans?" he looked confused. "I do not understand." I shook my head. "never mind, I need to ask you a few questions." I lightly shuffled to the couch in front of him, as he sat on the floor. "I'm a nurse, so everything I am going to ask you is professional." I told him. "what is your date of birth?" he looked down, then back up at me. "date of creation is January 15th, 2014."

My eyes shot open. "this year!? that's impossible! You're not a new born baby!" he had a blank stare. "I am telling the truth." I glared. "that's not right, you look at least eighteen years old, you couldn't have been born so soon." He smiled. "next question." I sighed, then sat back down. "maybe you lost some of your memory in that fall. Anyway… what is your blood type?" he tilted his head. "blood?" I nodded. "every living being has some form of blood, surely you… might have some." He smiled. "next question." I stood up. "hold on, so are you human or what?" I took a piece of paper from my coffee table and ran it over the top of my arm. A tiny bit of blood began to show, and I held it to his face. "blood, see? If I give you a paper cut will blood come out?" he stared at my arm, and his eyes seemed to change from friendly orbs of curiosity, to empty windows. I paused, as he intensely glared at my cut. "are you ok?"

his eyes became a deep, flaming orange, he grabbed my wrist and threw me into the couch with force. I gasped, and tensed up as he placed a hand over the cut. "warning; potential exposure. Warning; infection risk." his voice sounded like a security alarm, it was scaring me to death. I kept my eyes closed, and felt something cold hit my paper cut. It felt like dry ice hitting my arm, and I felt an awful, down to the bone sting. "ahh!!!" I barked a yell, as he held me down. "S-stop! Stop it, please!" but before I knew it, the sting ended and I felt heat replace the awful cold. I panted, and let my body relax as I opened my eyes. My arm was wrapped in what looked like translucent tape. It felt warm, like a cup of hot coffee, and the pain was gone, and so was the paper cut. I stared at it, then up at Lucky. His eyes were green once again, and he seemed calm now. "what… what the hell.."

I pushed him off of me, and backed away, holding my arm. "what is wrong with you, that hurt! What did you do to me?" he frowned. "what do you mean?" I stared at him. "you could have.." I looked down to my arm. "the cut is gone… it was only a paper cut but.. how did you make it vanish?" Lucky smiled. "I fixed you. You were broken so I fixed you." My eyes softened, and I held my arm. "Lucky, what are you? Please tell me what you are." He looked out my window, and I could see a lost look, like he was trying to figure that out himself. "father says I am the best astronaut in the universe. Father says I am the answer. I do not know what that means. I am one of ten, we are all the same. How will I be anything that they are not?" his eyes were quite lost indeed. I frowned, and sat back down. "you're not a human, are you?" he looked at me and smiled again. "I am an astronaut." I looked at my arm, and bit my lip. "an astronaut…"

Alien…

"an astronaut…"

Alien… surely he is an Alien, not from this planet, he does things humans would never, could never do… I don't know if I will ever understand him.

I got down on my knees and crawled toward him, and decided to try something out. he may not be human, be he has emotions and a personality. my head rested on his chest, and I listened for that sound. My favorite sound in the whole world, one I use to hear every day working at the hospital. If you've ever listened to a heart beat up close for long enough, it sounds like it is in tune with yours.

he won't have one if he's a machine or an E.T, right? But I…

boom

boom

boom

My body went warm, my eyes burst open; I could hear a beat inside of him. It was normal, and soon enough it even sounded in tune with mine. There was no mistaking it, this man, this thing this Alien had a heartbeat, just like me. "what are you doing?" he asked me. I backed away, and stared at him in awe. "your body is cold, you have no blood… how is a heart working in your chest?" he tilted his head. "how is it beating… without any blood.." I shook my head. "never mind, I'm going to bed." He smiled. "bed? You need to re charge?" I looked down at him, and chuckled. "yeah, I guess you could call it that. Do you ever sleep?" he walked over to my window, and sat in the sun that came in. I smiled. "your weird." He smiled, and closed his eyes. "no, I am lucky."
